Evaluate 3.1.1 – Differentiation Quest
Provide sample data from student results for a course within your field. The data can be entirely theoretical and written out in text form.
The analytics tools can be used to identify weaknesses in specific areas as well as overall trends in progress.
The following is a heat map of a course from spring 2016. The highlighted assignments are the ones that seem to be the lowest grades overall. I can clearly see that three of these come from the same unit. This tells me that I need to do more to help the students on these topics. Reinforcement assignments, additional resources, synchronized learning lessons are all examples of way to provide differentiation.

Another analytics tool can be used to group students very easily. This is the User Quiz score. This simply gives you a list of quiz scores in order from highest percent to lowest percent. The student highlighted failed the quiz far worse than anyone in the class. I would look at this student's data closer to see how much time he spent on the quiz, how much time was spent in the course. Did he try to complete two weeks worth of assignments at a time? Etc. I would also reach out to this student, most likely via email, to see if we could identify the problem. If it is a time management issue (not following the schedule) that would require different intervention that if he did not understand the material.
The group in red is the group I would reach out to via a news announcement providing extra practice on the topics. In addition I would provide links to tutorials on these subjects.
