Communicate 2.1.1. Identify Stakeholders Quest
In the virtual classroom, instructors must offer continuous updates to all stakeholders, such as parents, students, and school facilitators. Think about each of these stakeholder descriptions and discuss.
Instructor - As an online teacher, we do not do the same as a face to face teacher. Instead, it is more of a flipped classroom style. The students read the material, watch the videos in the content, and do the interactives on their own. The teacher is there to answer questions based upon the student's individual learning. We also help with technical and policy issues We are responsible for communicating with the other stakeholders as well.
Student - As I stated above, the student is more responsible for their learning that in a traditional face to face classroom. They learn from reading and practicing the problems.
Parents - Parents are responsible for helping the students stay on task and follow their schedule. When parents aren't involved, it shows. I encourage parents to communicate with me so that we can work together to help the child reach his or her potential.
Local School Administration - At GAVS, we refer to this as the facilitator. The facilitator signs the student up for the class and is the liaison between us and the local school. This is the most important when it comes to working with seniors whose graduation depends up passing our class!
- Do the descriptions correlate to your perception?
- How can they be expanded upon or described further?

- Are there other stakeholders within an online environment not considered above?
